Best Devilled Eggs Recipe You’ve Ever Tasted

Fresh organic pasture raised eggs are the star in todays tried and true recipe. These delicious eggs paired with real mayo, sweet pickle juice, honey mustard and the perfect hint of onion are just a few ingredients that make this devilled egg recipe the very best.

I have to admit I did not like devilled eggs until I made my own! They were kind of plain and lacking creaminess and taste.

I have an amazing group of friends we call the crue and they had requested devilled eggs for “dart night.” Quickly I contacted everyone I knew that had made them before and I started experimenting.

In no time at all I had concocted the perfect recipe as I’m sure my friends can attest to. I have never in my entire life seen a tray of devilled eggs disappear so quickly. It is now the crues favorite and I have to make them all the time now.

I guess I am known for the best devilled eggs on the shore as we say here in Newfoundland and Labrador. It also helps that We have also the best chickens and roosters here. I could be a little bias.

This is Porkchop! The first chicken I had ever seen in real Life!

Porkchop is an amazing rooster and was quickly trained to crow on command! He sends out a morning greeting each day on Facebook and has become a morning ritual with his fans!

His morning post is pinned to the top of my profile page each day if you’d like to follow along our journey.

I say the best part of waking up is porkchop with your cup.

As some of you may know chicken math can become very real very quick and that one chicken has now turned into 30. I have a couple other roosters Gonzo, Benny and Sunny that have also been trained and are now apart of the morning greeting.

Before I get to the recipe here are a few pictures of our amazing chickens.

Benny The most docile rooster that ever lived

They certainly are sweet! are lay the best eggs!

Todays tried and true recipe for devilled eggs also comes with a wonderful and educational tutorial; recipe to follow.

I sure hope you enjoyed that tutorial below you will find a list of ingredients necessary to make these yummy devilled eggs for your friends and family:

Ingredients:

  • One heaping, tablespoon of miracle, whip
  • Three heaping tablespoons of real mayo
  • 1 teaspoon of yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of honey mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
  • Half tablespoon of sweet onion vinegar from the pickle juice
  • 1 tablespoon of sweet, gherkin juice
  • a pinch of sugar
  • A pinch of garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of epicure, three onion or a similar onion product
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • One pinch of salt
  • 12 eggs

Directions :

Bring a large pot of water to a boil

Add salt

Once the water has come to a boil, add eggs one at a time

When all eggs are in the boiling water, set a timer for 12 to 14 minutes.

The time can vary depending on the size of the egg.

Once they are boiled place the eggs in a cold water bath

After a few minutes they should be cool enough to handle.

Peel the shells off the eggs and remove the yolks by slicing the egg length ways with a sharp knife in 2 equal halves.

Set aside the white part of the egg for later.

Mash the egg yolk with a fork ensuring the yolk is very fine in texture.

Add other ingredients and mix until creamy.

At this point I like to taste test. Feel free to add a small bit more mayo or pickle juice to your desired taste.

Place blended yolk in a Piping bag

Pipe the yolk mixture into the whites and then top with paprika

Chill for several hours before serving. I like to make them during the day for the evening.

Enjoy.

    Greetings, Julie!

I love your videos, I’m gonna try these deviled eggs. The recipe looks fabulous. They won’t be as good as yours, however because I cannot find fresh eggs in St John’s. Do you know of anybody who sells them near the city? My best friend in Annapolis Valley raises chickens and I’ve discovered the vast difference between fresh and not so fresh. Any advice? Thank you for all that you share, I’m enjoying!

      Hi there

Thank you I’m so happy you’re enjoying the videos I don’t really know of anyone, but you may be able to get some in CBS or perhaps the Goulds you could even try Lester‘s farm and you’re very welcome. ❤️ I’m sure your eggs will be delicious.
