Easy Cinnamon Rolls

Rising in a warm oven

For me, there is nothing more satisfying than a warm fresh cinnamon roll. With a soft pillowy dough, a gooey cinnamon and sugar center with or with our icing these are sure to impress. A fast and easy recipe you can start these and in just 2 short hours or so you can be enjoying these super yummy rolls.

This recipe is enough for 3 pans of cinnamon rolls or if you want you can divide the dough into 3 balls, make one loaf of bread for sandwiches, a cinnamon roll bread (simply follow instructions for the rolls but shape into a loaf instead) and cinnamon rolls. All delicious all super easy. Did I mention these was no need to Knead. That’s right no kneading!

How to make:

Ingredients for the dough:

  • 3 cups of warm water test it on your wrist if you cant feel the difference between the water temp and your wrist your good. Luke warm
  • 7-8 cups of flour
  • 4 1/2 tsp instant quick rise yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 Tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp salt

Whisk eggs with sugar and oil add water. Measure 4 cups flour add instant yeast to it. Whisk and add all at the same time to egg mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon until there are no more lumps. Measure another 4 cups flour and add salt to it. Whisk and the add about 1/2 cup at a time to the mix. Continue adding until dough is no longer sticky. Slightly sticky is ok. Place a small amount of oil on top and cover with a tea towel until doubled in bulk. About an hour.

Punch down dough and divide into 3 equal sections.

Roll out dough into a 9 x 14 ” rectangle. Spread a generous about of softened or melted butter 3-4 Tablespoons over top. then mix about 1/3 cup sugar with 3 -4 tsp. of cinnamon. roll up tightly starting from the long end. Cut it in 1/2 then each into 6 rolls place in greased 9×13 baking dish . Allow to rise once more for about 45 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 for 20-25 mins. If you tap the top it should sound hollow.

While still warm you can mix 2 Tbsp. butter with 2 cups icing sugar and 1tsp vanilla and a Tbsp. or 2 of fresh milk and spread over top. You can even add a little cream cheese if you like. Yummy

This dough recipe is very versatile here is a video of my grandson & I making this dough for white, cinnamon roll and raisin bread. Delicious!
