When I first head of the idea, I have to admit, I was very skeptical I mean Frosting so quick and easy not to mention super cheap. I just had to give this one a go. It works! I was so pleasantly surprised for another tried and true recipe as you’ll see in the video tutorial.
The inspiration for this recipe comes from once again my Mother in Law Shirley she really does have some wonderful recipes and she’s quite the baker herself I might add. We had them over for lunch and I was looking for whipped cream I had none and there was none to be found so she told me of this coconut cream hack & I am hooked.
I mean what’s not to love about coconut milk? Not only is it delicious but it leaves a nice cooling feeling on the tongue not to mention the amazing health benefits! Rich in B vitamins, C & E, fiber, minerals such as selenium etc. check out this article on bbcgoodfood.com.

This Coconut Milk Whipped cream opens up a whole new world of possibilities You can put it on just about anything your heart desires, tarts pancakes, waffles, fruit bowls, coconut cream pie, cheesecakes etc. I mean endless possibilities.
I used some in these amazing peanut buster parfaits I made for dessert. You can see how cool the white color is even though I added a tsp. of brown vanilla to mine.

If your unsure of what a peanut buster parfait is Dairy Queen makes them & they are Yummy! We like extra extra Chocolate fudge in ours.
The chocolate fudge for this recipe was a package from Epicure that I just added whipped cream to and cooked on the stove & then let cool. I don’t sell Epicure but I do like it & you can find it here
Ingredients:
- Can of coconut milk
- 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
- flavoring optional
How to make Coconut Milk Frosting/Whipping cream:
The first thing you have to do to make this delicious coconut frosting/cream is to place a can of coconut milk upside down in the refrigerator overnight. Cooling it in the freezer doesn’t work as well so be patient or just store your coconut milk in the refrigerator like I do.
The next day when you are ready to use your cream simple open it and empty into a bowl. You will see that the milk is quite thick already. There may be some liquid inside if so, simply put aside to use in another recipe.
On top of the Coconut Milk place 1/4 cup of powdered icing sugar and whip with your hand mixer. As you’ll see in the video tutorial it really doesn’t take too long. Maybe a minute or two. I added a pinch of vanilla and coconut extract to mine. This is optional I’m sure you can get quite creative with the flavorings as well maybe chocolate, orange, lemon ?
Whatever the case may be make sure to use good quality flavorings I can’t stress this enough in cooking & baking it really makes a difference. I like what’s tried and true to me and that is 100% Watkins. They have been around for a very very long time & the quality speaks for itself find it here:
