Strawberry Angel Food Cake Dessert Cheat!

Super Yummy!

It was a busy Father’s day weekend with lots of friends and family visiting, we needed something quick, really quick. Well this little magician put on her thinking cap and went to town. Super easy and super delicious you don’t need too much time to put this amazing dessert together.

Its absolutely great; especially when you need to whip up something fast that’s sure to please even the most pickiest of eaters. With Fresh Strawberries and Fluffy whip cream its sure to be a taste bud pleaser it absolutely is in this house.

Don’t be afraid to try other flavors as well like lemon or blueberry or raspberry yum! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Summer weather is here and my Strawberries are starting to ripen and grow just look:

getting bigger!

It won’t be long now and we’ll be making all sorts of jams and pies. Don’t worry I’ll be sure to post the recipes and will for sure try to get a video tutorial for all as I have done with this one.

I have a very special guest for this video. I sure hope he doesn’t outgrow making videos with Nanny! Have a look I hope you enjoy! Recipe to follow:

As you can see from the picture above it turned out beautifully and tasted even better. Poppy sure loved it that’s for sure. I think it had something to do with all the love put into it. Love always makes things taste a little sweeter!

In order to make this super quick dessert you will need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 ready prepared angel food cake ( if you can’t find one the box ones you make yourself are pretty easy to whip up and taste just as good if not better)
  • 1 Bag of whipped topping already prepared ( I used Richs you can substitute Dream Whip or Nutriwhip if you are lucky enough to find some)
  • 1-2 lbs. of fresh strawberries washed and sliced ( feel free to use lemon pie filling or blueberries or raspberries instead or even mix them all for a mixed berry treat.

It also makes for a great trifle if you just want to cut up the cake and use some custard and vanilla pudding as well. Get creative & Have Fun!

Method:

In order to put this together, as you may have seen in the video is super simple. Simply cut your cake in two halves ( bottom & Top) Place the bottom on your plate or cake stand. Using the prepared whip topping completely cover the bottom.

Place sliced strawberries on top of that. I like to use the flatter ones and save the outer bits of the strawberries for the outside layer. It tends to balance perfectly that way and looks really pretty.

Next, Place your top half over the bottom half and spread with most of the remaining whip cream. Place strawberries all over the top and sides. Fill in any spaces with your whipped cream.

Super easy, especially if your cream was in a piping bag like mine was and voila a delicious quick dessert for your family and friends to enjoy!

Yummy!

I sure hope you enjoyed the video we had a wonderful weekend. We even made Reeses Peanut butter cup smores check it out:

mmmmm smores

They were so good! It was basically a graham cracker a toasted marshmallow, a Reese’s peanut butter cup, another toasted marshmallow ( we like the gooey) and then topped with another graham cracker. Really Really Good.

As usual I’ll share links to the ingredients:
