One can only imagine the excitement when being contacted by an author that wants to publish your recipes! Mine along with some of Newfoundland’s Best. Quite the honor let me tell ya.
Little did I know, when I started sharing these wonderful recipes of mine, they would become more popular than I had first realized.
Many of these recipes have been passed down from generation to generation. From grandmothers, mothers, fathers and friends we met along the way.
It just made my heart sing with delight when I was contacted by Jennifer Leigh Hill, The Author. At first, I had simply given her a thumbs up ( funny, looking back). I was thinking she was just another random person wanting to sell something on my site.
It wasn’t until she had contacted me the second time that I took her seriously lol. I made some inquiries and quickly realized she was legit! Waiting for the book to be published was something I was really looking forward to.
My recipes featured in this book are: Citrus Cranberry tea buns, Sweet or Savoury Flips, Apricot prune coffee cake and Newfoundland Bakeapple Jam So hard to choose a favorite.
I will share a link to the Citrus Cranberry Tea buns. It was a recipe I came up with after speaking with my Step Father Chris who is a wonderful Pastry Chef.
This book contains so many great recipes developed by so many great people. From oatmeal to bread to fishcakes and jam. There’s even a recipe for traditional white pudding by Bonita’s Kitchen another wonderful cook!
