Easy Big Mac Cheeseball

So good! Look at the texture in there Yum!

Cheeseball, who doesn’t love a good cheeseball right? This one is pretty easy, pretty delicious and to top it off , tastes amazingly like McDonald’s Big Mac! Maybe with extra cheese and pickles haha seriously though its remarkably similar in taste.

The inspiration for this easy cheeseball came from an old Christmas recipe book that was in the old Newfoundland Telegram. It was called Rays cheeseball and was seriously delish. It was so yummy, my wonderful nieces and nephews thought it tasted similar to the Big Mac so I thought, why not make it taste more like a Big Mac!

Heres a link to the Telegram its under new ownership now so I’m not 100% sure if they still have a recipe book in there for Christmas.

The Newfoundland Herald does though you can find them here:

https://nfldherald.com/

I rarely buy a newspaper with most things being done online these days; but I do get quite excited once a year in anticipation for the Annual Christmas Cookbook.

This Big Mac Cheeseball contains a couple of ingredients that are absolutely necessary, make sure you use the “Brand name” stuff like Lea and Perrins because just like Heinz there are no other kinds. There is actually a very interesting read on the history of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce. Its been around since 1855 and seriously I’ve tried every brand, Nothing even slightly compared to the rich, deep flavor of Lea and Perrins. Here’s a link to the site:

This recipe also calls for 3 onion epicure. Its quite convenient in everyday cooking as is most of their products. They are low in sodium and GMO free which is awesome in my opinion. I think a couple tablespoons is equal to a whole onion, so it really saves on the teary eyes hahaha.

If you are unable to access Epicure; I would suggest using extra green onion finely chopped. I wouldn’t use yellow onion as the flavor may be way to strong here’s a link to the Epicure:

I don’t sell Epicure but I do know a couple of gorgeous ladies that do sell Epicure I will add both their links incase you want some or need more info. They are both very friendly and have excellent customer service.

I also am picky about cheese I like Good cheese I call it real cheese. You can use Cracker Barrel or similar to that type but I am going to share my Absolute Favorite Cheese Ever!! Really Ever! Castello Tickler Cheese its aged 18 months and has a 5 on the Bold scale, its quite sharp and has all those little salty bits yum! Real Cheese!

And use quality cream cheese like Philadelphia

On with the recipe! I will include a YouTube video tutorial at the end.

How to Make this Big Mac Cheeseball:

Ingredients:

  • 1- 8 oz block of cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup old cheddar cheese grated like Cracker Barrel
  • 1/2 cup extra sharp cheese like Castellos Tickler grated
  • 2/3 cup finely chopped garlic dill pickles ( if no garlic add 2-3 cloves minced)
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped green onion
  • 1/2 Tbsp. 3 Onion Epicure spice
  • 2 Tbsp. Real Mayo not Miracle whip!
  • 2 tsp. Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup chopped nuts Pecans work best

Method:

Soften cream cheese with your hand mixer. Add mayo, Worcestershire sauce and dill pickle. Next add your onion, epicure spice and grated cheese. Roll into a ball and then roll around in your chopped nuts. If you have someone in your home with a nut allergy please feel free to roll the ball in extra grated cheese its all good I’ve done it lots before and really doesn’t affect the flavor too much Enjoy!
